FAQ’S
Why is your logo a moon?
I choose to have the moon be the logo for my blog because of the exciting symbolism. In astrology, the moon symbolizes the soul and feminine energy. It can also represent our ability for reflection, adaptation, and the unconscious mind. The moon is such a beautiful part of the night and is full of secrets and intrigue. It controls so much of the world around us, from the tides and rains to the waters and seasons. The moon represents the rhythm of time, mystery, wonder, emotion, and illumination, making it perfect for a blog about stories.
“Everyone wants to be the sun to lighten up someone’s life, but why not be the moon to brighten in the darkest hour?” - Unknown.
How did you come up with the name for your blog?
Ever since I was a little girl, I have loved stories, and one type in particular that holds a special place in my heart is fairy tales. I grew up reading all the classic stories repeatedly and continue to do so to this day.
A fable, also known as a parable, myth, allegory, fairy tale, folk tale, myth, legend, or epic, is defined as a story conveying a moral or lesson. Often, it is a supernatural one incorporating elements of myth and legend. Typically, a fable has animals, mythical creatures, plants, forces of nature, or inanimate objects, as characters.
For me, fables are timeless and engaging. Humanity has told these stories for millennia, first in the oral tradition and then by reading them via the written word. So, I decided that I would incorporate the word “Fables” into the name of my blog to pay tribute to a genre of literature that I find fascinating. I spent some time brainstorming what name I liked best, and thus the title “Fables of the Midnight Moon” was born. Plus, I think it sounds fantastic and elegant.☺️
What did you study in college?
I graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in English with a Minor in Marketing from Texas Woman’s University. The focus of my degree was on Rhetoric and Writing, and I loved it. Throughout my undergraduate studies, I took a wide variety of classes covering everything from grammar, composition, and linguistics to literature, film, and storytelling.
